Today the City of Pompano Beach will have a ceremony (7:00 pm – 10:00 pm) to officially open its first parking garage to the public. The Pier Parking Garage is close to the beach on the lot where the old library and fire station used to be be (near NE 3rd Street.)

Painted Pompano
“The Painted Pompano series is Pompano Beach’s first large public art installation. The project consists of 12 five foot tall fish sculptures which are being placed at various locations throughout the City. Each of the Painted Pompano sculptures has been individualized by artists in a variety of styles and finishes…” (SOURCE: City of Pompano Beach)

I was in Margate for a short while today. It was raining and bleak, not really a good time for photography but I left with these two images.

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale is the organization that manages Riverwalk Linear Park. The park runs along the New River in Fort Lauderdale and offers spactacular views of downtown Fort Lauderdale.
I stopped by the western end of the park at lunch time and came away with some decent shots. Here are a few taken near The Performing Arts Centre.

The construction of the Fort Lauderdale Station of All Aboard Florida started a few weeks ago. Here is what the site looks like today (Dec 11th). The second photo is of downtown Fort Lauderdale east of the construction site.
