Today the City of Pompano Beach will have a ceremony (7:00 pm – 10:00 pm) to officially open its first parking garage to the public. The Pier Parking Garage is close to the beach on the lot where the old library and fire station used to be be (near NE 3rd Street.)

Fish Sculptures in Pompano Beach

Painted Pompano

“The Painted Pompano series is Pompano Beach’s first large public art installation. The project consists of 12 five foot tall fish sculptures which are being placed at various locations throughout the City. Each of the Painted Pompano sculptures has been individualized by artists in a variety of styles and finishes…” (SOURCE: City of Pompano Beach)

I photographed these sculptures today while visiting the Pompano Beach Library near A1A.

Bleak Morning on Hollywood Beach

It was cloudy and bleak this morning but I still decided to take a long overdue walk on Hollywood Broadwalk. The sun showed its face a few times but I was able to get some great shots without the harsh sunshine. Here are three of the better photos.
