BB&T Center Sunrise Florida
The BB&T Center in Sunrise Florida is the home of the Florida Panthers Hockey Team. This indoor area opened it’s doors to the public in 1998. This venue holds concerts in addition to hockey games and big names like Elton John, Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac have performed there. Janet Jackson is expected to perform there in March 2016.

Public Art: Island Garden at Long Key Nature Center
Island Garden at Long Key Nature Center in Davie Florida is an architectural artwork designed by artist Lorna Jordan. It was installed in 2009 and is about 120 feet long and 88 feeet wide.
“This gathering place has spiraling forms that rise up from water and the surrounding landscape. It includes a pavilion, water elements, plantings, and rustic terrazzo benches and paving. As people spiral through the artwork, a sequence of intermittent vertical screens provides a sense of enclosure. Openings between screens frame views of the surrounding landscape—groves of live oaks, an island teaming with wildlife, and water bodies reminiscent of the original everglades.” (Source: Broward.org)
